So, I guess the argument 'this virus is less dangerous than every day road travel' has been abandoned.

Currently, our office building is partially leased to a health-care clinic - we own the building, but it's shared with a medical group. I can see that being considered a little less attractive as a business arrangement than it once was.

Sweden: Not so fast... The Swedish Public Health Agency made international headlines yesterday by estimating that one-third of Stockholm residents would be infected with the coronavirus by May 1. Less than 24 hours later, the Agency has taken a dramatic u-turn and withdrawn the report. The decision was announced via Twitter: "We have discovered an error in the report and so the authors are currently going through the material again. We will republish the report as soon as it is ready."

I keep thinking back to Perot in 92 - 'the giant sucking sound'.

Could be. Just thinking out loud, it seems like the second wave will be 'broader'. The country mostly shut down at about the same time. But the virus was rampant only in a few select areas. So even as new daily cases are receding, the virus is now active in far more areas than it was when we first started shutting down in mid march. If, as it appears, there's a broad wave of re-openings in the first half of May, far more areas will be starting growth anew from a higher base.

@Aqua-Letifer said in 80%: @Improviso said in 80%: @Aqua-Letifer said in 80%: Gonna be too late by the time they are. Lot of these crops have very narrow harvesting windows. Well... that's going to suck for vegans, huh? Corn, wheat and other stuff that's machine-harvested is going to be okay. But corn kinda sucks on the nutrient spectrum and if you're gluten-averse, well... With the oil glut, I wonder how long they will continue to add 10% ethanol to gasoline.

In the hierarchy of epic takedowns, that level's reserved only for moms. Frau Schopenhauer really brought it there.

So's living by yourself under quarantine. Very few people are wired to be comfortable being in that kind of situation long-term.

Did every state get these, or just some states? Were the tests so contaminated that they could spread the virus? That seems unlikely, but this whole scenario should have been unlikely, more like impossible, yet here it is.

That is great! As a kid I had a few things I would always mess up. For example, mowlawner and calipitter. Maybe I have a tough of dyslexia. Anyway outside our house we also had a grape arbor. You know, one of those wooden structures where grape vines might grow (we didn’t harvest or anything). Anyway...until I was about 12 I called it the “great barber”. I had no idea I had it wrong until someone said something.
